Before joining Logos Technologies in 2002, where he now serves as VP of Technology, Dr. David Fields was a staff physicist at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. His initial assignments were in experimental nuclear physics, specifically, detection and sensor hardware and the analysis of complex multidimensional data. He then expanded on that expertise, working on such projects as laser plasma interactions, weapons physics, x-ray lasers, land mine detection, and hyperspectral technology.
In 1996, Dr. Fields served as an Intergovernmental Personnel Act (IPA) Mobility Program assignee at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, where he managed the Adaptive Spectral Reconnaissance Program. This demonstrated the use of hyperspectral sensors as part of a real-time reconnaissance system that could provide reliable target location and identification data. The project transitioned to the Army as the Non-Line-of-Sight Launch System.
Dr. Fields earned his Ph.D. in Physics from Michigan State University.
